Crowns and Bridges
Crowns are made from high strength ceramic or a combination of both ceramic and metal. The
strength and precise fit of crowns over natural teeth that have been
cracked or heavily decayed allows us to extend the longevity of the tooth.
Bridges are similar to crowns but replace three teeth or more. Bridges are
used to fill gaps left by missing teeth.
Implants
Dental implants are a predictable long term solution for missing teeth involving the placement of implant fixtures into the jaw bone. Implants are able to support crowns and bridges or can be used to stabilise loose dentures.
Preventive Fissure Sealants
Fissure seals can dramatically reduce the incidence of decay by providing a protective coating to the grooves of the back teeth. The seals do not allow food to sit in the grooves where they have the potential to cause most decay.
Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth cause significant discomfort, crowding and decay of adjacent teeth. A full mouth x ray called an OPG will provide the dentist with an indication of the prognosis for long term wisdom tooth maintenance or extraction.
